If you don't have all day to crochet, don't worry, because these beanies whip up in less than an hour and are super easy to make - perfect for beginners!
You will need:
10mm crochet hook
Two strands of worsted/medium weight yarn (4)
This beanie will be made by tying two strands of yarn to your hook at once. By doing this, you cut down on time and your beanie will be made much faster!
Alternatively, you can use chunky yarn (6) instead of two strands, if you're worried about your yarn getting tangled (a very real concern).
Let's get crocheting!
Chain 4
Row 1: In the fourth chain from hook, 11dc. Slip stitch to the first dc to join (11dc)
Row 2: Chain 3, 2dc in the same stitch and each stitch around, slip stitch to the first dc to join (22dc)
Row 3: Chain 3, 2dc in the same stitch, 1dc in the next stitch, * 2dc in the next stitch, 1 double crochet in the next * repeat ** around, slip stitch to the first dc to join (33dc)
Row 4: Chain 3, 2dc in the same stitch, 1dc in the next 2 stitches, * 2dc in the next stitch, 1 double crochet in the next 2 stitches * repeat ** around, slip stitch to the first dc to join (44dc)
Rows 5 to 9: Chain 3, 1 double crochet in the same stitch and in each stitch around. Slip stitch to the first dc to join (44dc)
Row 10: Chain 1, (IN BACK LOOPS ONLY) 1sc in the same stitch and each stitch around. Slip stitch to the first dc to join. Fasten off and weave in ends!
And there you have it! A super quick and easy beanie ready to go! If you'd like the beanie to be a bit longer, you can add more rows after row 9 to your desired length.
As far as changing colours goes, you can do it at the beginning of each row as you please, or stick to the same colour. It's up to you, get creative! If you’re unsure how to go about changing from one colour to the next, there are plenty of videos tutorials on YouTube you can seek out.
